anger

I slapped my daughter across the face for the first time today.
I feel so awful. I cried.
I told her to go take nap and she said "no mommy".
.........................................................
I can't believe I did that to her. she ran to her room crying. I followed her. I took her in my arms and sat in our chair and told her that your not supposed to tell mommy no.. she said yes mam and I said sorry for hitting her. We teach her not to hit. So that means I must follow by example.
...
SO. The Bible teaches about anger..

"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir
up anger...A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is
slow to anger appeaseth strife."
Proverbs 15:1, 18, KJV

I noticed when I yell that things get worse.a lot worse. I should not do that. One of my sister in laws is a good example. I have never heard her raise her voice to her kids. EVER. yet they know when she is upset over what they have done and they have been model children since they were young.
I could and should do the same.

"He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he
that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city."
Proverbs 16:32, KJV
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his
glory to pass over a transgression."
Proverbs 19:11, KJV

There is no reason to "get angry" over what my kids do. Upset yes. but when I let that anger control me then things get out of hand. And the entire house suffers..
not good or pleasant..

I promise myself to nip it in the bud and be a better mom..
